South Carolina is showing strong interest in Gamecock legacy James Kittredge (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco Prep). Carolina quarterbacks Coach G.A. Mangus came by his school to check on him on Monday and Kittredge talked about his interest in the Gamecocks.
"Coach Mangus came by this morning,” he said. “He was telling me about the school and was asking what I know about it. I’ve been to South Carolina a few times since my dad played there. I like that they are in the SEC and their stadium is great. I have always been a fan of them. It would be great if I went to the same school my dad went too, but it’s not something I’m trying to do."
Maryland, Central Florida, Duke, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia, Akron and Louisville all have offered Kittredge. Notre Dame and Michigan State are showing interest along with the Gamecocks.
He has been to Maryland and Rutgers and talked about those two programs.
Maryland: "I’ve been there twice. I like their intensity on defense. My recruiter is really starting to show me a lot of love and is a nice guy. Their facilities are beautiful."
Rutgers: "They were the first school to offer. It’s a great place with great facilities. They love football at Rutgers and have a good atmosphere. It’s a program that’s on the way up."
Kittredge talked about what he will weigh when he goes to make his final decision.
"I am going to be looking for the coaches that show me love, a good education, the players, and if I feel comfortable,” he said. “I’m going to take my time and not rush into a decision."
