South Carolina has racked up a few commitments over the past few days on the offensive line, but are not done yet. Offensive lineman
Dan Foose (Paramus, N.J./Paramus Catholic) was offered by USC back in early May and talked to TheBigSpur.com about where he stands currently and his top schools.
Foose has offers from USC, Rutgers, Illinois, Cincinnati, Boston College, USF, UCF, Louisville, and Minnesota. He is also getting interest from Florida, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Michigan State. Foose talked about South Carolina and when he will visit this summer.
"I actually talked to (USC quarterback coach) G.A. Mangus last week. Him and my coach have been talking about me coming up in late July for a visit," Foose said. "I'm definitely going to visit in late July. I just need to set it up. Coach Mangus was telling me that they need some lineman up front. He is a great guy and is trying to win a SEC championship."
The 6-foot-6, 310 pounder went on to talk about what he knows and what he likes about South Carolina.
"I know they have a lot of great athletes at South Carolina. I've seen them play on TV. They are in the SEC and they have a legendary coach in Steve Spurrier. You cant play for a better coach then that. I just need to visit and see if I like it."
Foose also talked about two other schools that he likes and are closer to home.
Rutgers: "I've visited them a bunch of times. I really like the people there and the weight room. They have a good thing going and its close to home. The coaches are great and they have some great stuff down there."
Boston College: "Boston College is an awesome school with great academics. I know (Boston College offensive line coach) Sean Devine real well. He is a great guy and coach."
Foose plans on visiting USC, Illinois, and Stanford to end the summer. He said he will commit to a school at the beginning of the season. He listed a top six in order.
"Rutgers, Boston College, South Carolina, Illinois, Stanford, and UCF."
ESPN/Scouts Inc. gives Foose a overall grade of 75.
